The Gastown top pattern

$10.00

Mesh tops seem to be the hot summer 2023 trend! I actually remember buying myself a mesh top from C&A (anyone remember that?) in the 90s! It’s funny to find that I like them just as much now as I did then!

The Gastown top, constructed from the bottom up, is a perfect, boxy, multi-use top, from a beach cover-up to drinks at the weekend. I recently wore mine while exploring the streets of Seoul!

Available in 9 sizes from 30-62 inch bust. Made with approximately 2-inch positive ease.

For Advanced Beginner and above.

MATERIALS

-3.5mm crochet hook (size E) (or whichever hook size needed to obtain gauge)

-DK weight cotton yarn - I used Zümrüt cotton yarn 100g (3.52oz) per 200 metres (218 yards). Colour ZI 1175

-4 removable stitch markers

-Measuring tape

-Tapestry needle (for seaming shoulders together and weaving in ends)

CONSTRUCTION

The Gastown top is worked bottom-up.

There are customization options for body length, arm depth and sleeve length.

SIZES

1 (2, 3, 4) 5 (6, 7, 8, 9)

Your chest circumference

30 (34, 38, 42), 46 (50, 54, 58, 62) inches | 76 (86, 96.5, 106.5) 117 (127, 137, 147, 157.5) centimetres.

Final measurements of the top (approximately 2 inches positive ease)

This pattern would be nothing without my testers, so a big thank you to them!
